We had fried chicken (largest drumstick I've ever seen, it wasn't cooked to the bone), meatloaf, fried catfish (like tenders, batter was a little burnt in some places), cabbage, and the butter cake. The food was all tasty. The ladies were friendly and shared a lot of time with us. This soul food restaurant needs a little dressing up. The dining room has, to me, too many unnecessary items that interfered with the dining experience. However, I will revisit.

Services is superior because the cook greets you with a hug. I purchased the chitterlings and pig feet with cornbread dressing and macaroni and cheese. It was delicious. The second time I went, I had pig feet. This is definitely the best homecooking and soul food that I have had in Houston.

Love the friendliness and loving atmosphere! Service was delightful! And food was on point! We had fried chicken and meatloaf and they were both super delicious. The sweet tea is what I would call a good Texas Tea! Will probably be back on a Sunday as I heard she makes gumbo on Sundays! And Oax tales. So yum

Upon entering we were greeted by the owner as if we were walking into your Auntie's home for Sunday dinner. We ordered the oxtail plate and a meat loaf plate. My side were green beans, Mac and cheese, greens, rice/beans. The portions were enough for two people to share one plate. They offer iced tea and kook aid. I am from Los Angeles so sweet tea is new to me. I always ask to mix it with water as it is too sweet for. The location is small so if you're not paying attention you may miss it. This place is good home cooking and I highly recommend.

If you're looking for tasty, large portions of soulfood this IS the place for YOU!!! I ordered a smothered Turkey plate, greens, cabbage, a family size pan of cornbread dressing, teacakes, and butter cake ( I know, I know its alot of food, but when I walked in the restaurant the smell of soulfood just blessed my soul and I HAD to order a lil bit of everything) it's a small restaurant, but let me tell u something, the customer service is soo warm and inviting! Ms. Darylin ( not sure if I spelled her name correctly) gave me a hug and thanked me for coming! Felt like I knew her my whole life when in reality this was my first time meeting her! Taste: Turkey and greens: seasoned to perfection, fall off the bone type meat. Cabbage was sweet, but not too sweet. It was good! The greens! Thumbs up!! Tea cakes and sliced cake: Chiiile, I was singing for the Gods on this one! Cake was moist and fresh! Teacakes were soft all around! Pan of Cornbread dressing: baaaaaaaaaaby... this will bless your whole life! Its soo good! Summary: Overall, the food is awesome! And what makes it taste even better is the amount of love and the customer service that comes along with it! I traveled from clearlake and passed up Mikkis, Alfredas, and This is it just to visit Heavenly Choices for the first time, and this place did not disappoint. I will definitely visit this restaurant again!!! Thank you Heavenly Choices for the delicious food, and superb customer service! The food here is sooooooo good! If you are looking for Soul Food and American food this is the place to be.
